After the day I've had, it's safe to say that I've got to take a step back and look at my priorities in life. We all get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, and forget what life is REALLY about. *Thinking....I'm pretty sure I've said this a time or two before* Before being a mommy, I used to live a pretty structured life. Somehow I found a way to work out (even multiple times of the day), work 40+ hours a week, taking classes and enrolling into nursing school, spend quality time with my friends, lose 70 pounds (yep...you heard me right), try out and make a college cheerleading squad, along with mounds of other things. Now...well...I cannot check off a single one of those things (except the working 40+ hours a week. I am a stay at home mom...I DO WORK)! Somewhere I lost sight of real life. I have THE BEST hubby that anyone could ever ask for, my precious little girl that is a blessing to us, a best friend that I can text any time of the day, and a family that may be a little dysfunctional but like my aunt always said "you can pick your nose, you can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family." HAH!
From this day forward, I'm re-evaluating the stage of life that I'm in; My purpose for life.
Number 1: Find my way back into church
Number 2: Find "me" -You know...the one that weighed 40 lbs less than I do now, that had enough energy to conquer the world.
Number 3: Cherish my time with my family. Who cares what someone just posted on Facebook, or what the Jones' are doing next door. I have a pretty perfect life, and I'm happy with just that.
Number 4: Spend more time with my REAL friends, and frequently express how much they mean to me.
***Note to self*** Re-read this blog entry often, so you do not lose sight of the ultimate goal!
Having said all of this, I will be discussing once again with my hubby where we will be finding our church home first thing tomorrow (I would now, but it's almost 1am and he's asleep). I will also be joining our local gym tomorrow, along with working out at home while incorporating activities with my daughter.
Next up: Holding myself accountable! I will be posting pictures of the "old me" and pictures of the "current me." Each day I will discuss what I've done to once again lose weight, and what I've done to stay on track.
Do you ever find yourself needing a little self-help?
